About The Welding Program

ASTC has four welding programs: Combination Welding, Pipe Welding, Tig Welding, and Fitter Metal Fabrication.

Under the combination welding, you will learn Shield Metal Arc (Stick) and Flux Core Welding.

On pipe welding, you will learn different techniques in using materials and perform 1G, 2G, 5G, and 6G.

On tig welding, you will learn how to use power tools and perform 1F, 2F, 3F, 4F, and 2G on pipes.

While on fitter fabrication, students can learn fabrication techniques, equipment use, safety, cutting, taching, and reading blueprints.

You will also learn grinding techniques and how to use torch cutting to pass the fitter test.

About The Welding Program

SWA. offers comprehensive welding programs to hone welders’ skills until they become masters in four processes: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW.

The program is 1,300 hours in total, 900 hours for the entire program.

The 400 hours focuses on welding specialty metal such as aluminum and stainless hands-on training on pipe and plates.

After completing the program, you can have three A.W.S. certifications and be a highly skilled welder.

You will learn about Pipe Welding, Structural Welding, and Welding Low Alloy Metals.

You will be introduced to the welding processes as you enroll. These are the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAC), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).

It is a 160-hour or 14-week training program. After graduation, you will gain the following certificates: TSC Certificate of Completion, NCCER credentials, and OSHA 10.
