You choose an associate’s degree, you will be able to apply for certification through the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (AART).
During your ultrasound training program, you will learn various skills such as:
- record-keeping
- communication skills
- how to operate the ultrasound machines
In order to get better job prospects, you can also get a specialization.
There are several of these available, including MRI techs, cardiac techs, and radiology.
All the specializations also include the basics of ultrasound.
To be able to attend the exam, you also need a number of practice hours.
