The Delaware Skills Center is a Division of the New Castle County Vocational-Technical School District.

A skillful and experienced teacher will provide students quality education through successful course completion and will enable them to find successful jobs and future careers.

Enrollment: The admission process is very easy and everything is done online.

Firstly, you are supposed to choose the course you want to attend.

Among the many courses offered, you have to decide which future vocation would be the most suitable for you.

Then, you should visit the school’s official webpage and submit an application.

The application requires that you fill out some personal and emergency data.

You should provide honest answers and fill it out completely.

The next step is coming in for a recruitment session any day between Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.

There, you will need to complete all additional admission forms and do a math and reading exam.

You will also set up an appointment for an interview with the Training Specialist and/or Instructor for your course to determine acceptance into the course.

Have in mind that you must bring a valid driver’s license and Social Security Card on the day of registration/recruitment sessions.

Paul M. Hodgson Vocational Technical High School

Paul M. Hodgson Vocational Technical High School belongs to the New Castle County VoTech High School together with Delcastle Technical High School, Howard High School of Technology and St. Georges Technical High School.

Enrollment: Students interested to apply for admission are required to submit an application to the Office of Admissions.

Furthermore, the copies of the final 7th grade and most recent 8th-grade report card must be submitted with the completed application forms.

The report cards should show attendance information.

Sussex Tech High School

Sussex Technical School District provides education, preparing students to be career- and college-ready and you will not make a mistake if you consider Sussex Tech for your educational choice.

Enrollment: Students are admitted to Sussex Tech through a blind lottery system managed by the State of Delaware and they admit about 300 students every year.

Sussex Tech’s admissions process opens on November 2nd when 8th-grade students from across Sussex County are invited to their annual Open House.

There they can learn more about what Sussex Tech offers.

Also, they can organize an individual tour which has to be scheduled and can happen throughout the year upon request.

The applying to Sussex Tech consists of completing of the State of Delaware’s School Choice application which is further managed by the state Data Service Center.

Southern Delaware School of the Arts

The Southern Delaware School of the Arts (SDSA) is proud to be a free, public, magnet school.

It is actually the part of the Indian River School District and the school follows Delaware State Law regarding school choice.

Polytech High School

Since its foundation in 1991, POLYTECH has been preparing students for careers in technical areas through their academic study, giving them the quality skills and knowledge to succeed in these fields.

Enrollment: Eighth graders are invited to tour the POLYTECH High School campus during the Annual Open House is held in November.

The additional documentation includes an official copy of their first-quarter report card for the current school year.

If you happen to be among 300 students accepted each school year, you will get an acceptance letter in early February.
