UAA has the aim to prepare students for success after graduation through classroom instruction and experiential learning.

Galena Interior Learning Academy was founded in 1997 as Project Education Charter School with 40 students working on project-based education.

Rilke Schule is a grade charter school within the Anchorage School District with a focus on the German Language which was founded in 2007.
