The training program at Trident Technical College for Phlebotomy is a non-credit course.

However, it will in part prepare you for the national certification exam (after you take 100 hours of clinical training and 4 hours of BLS/CPR training on top of your 72 hours of classroom training.

Courses Offered

While in this program, you’ll learn practical and theoretical knowledge such as selecting and preparing a site on the patient for venipuncture, collecting specimens, preparing and maintaining equipment, and establishing a professional patient/healthcare staff relationship.

You’ll also gain a full understanding of the legal aspects of this career, and health and safety matters involved in the field.

About

This school has campuses in Beaufort, Bluffton, Varnville, and Walterboro, with the campus in Walterboro being the closest to Charleston SC.

You’ll receive in-class instruction and hands-on clinical training through this program.

The tuition is $725 at this time and there are additional costs for your books and other supplies.

At the completion of your time in the program, you’ll be eligible to work as an entry-level phlebotomist.
