How to Get Board Certified
To get an NCBTMB Certification, you need 750 hours of education and to pass the BCEMB exam.
While this exam doesn’t allow you to practice in states with higher standards, it does provide proof of sufficient training to work.
Out of the exam topics, almost half is covered by technique and application.
About 35% of it is covered by planning, evaluation, and documentation.
You must also undergo CPR training with either of the following associations:
- American Heart Association (AHA)
- American Red Cross (ARC)
- American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI)
Candidates are also required to take a background check and have 250 hours of experience over half a year.
You must also agree to comply with ethical standards, be against human trafficking and read the candidate bulletin.
The bulletin is available on the “tools for certification” section.
