Located in Platte City, a Kansas City suburb, the Northland Career Center’s heating, cooling, and climate control program was designed to prepare graduates for entry-level positions within the HVACR industry.
In addition, those who complete the program can take the EPA 608 Refrigerant Certificate exam, which meets the Federal EPA conditions and is required for work in the field.
Programs / Courses
Heating, cooling, and climate control program students learn real-world customer service skills, troubleshooting systems, electrical and commercial refrigeration diagnostics, residential and commercial heating, essential mechanical refrigeration, the use of lab equipment, and safety procedures.

The focus of HVAC studies at Johnson County Community College is to ensure students receive hands-on training that prepares them for an entry-level position.
In addition, the Partnership accredits the HVAC associate and certificate programs for Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Accreditation.
