1 IBEW Local Union 26
The Inside Wireman Electrical Apprenticeship Program offered by IBEW Local Union 26 is a five-year training program that provides at least 8,000 hours of hands-on training in the electrical construction industry.
All students are mentored and supervised by journeyman electricians or higher.
Each apprentice is rotated yearly to a new contractor throughout the apprenticeship, which gives varied experience throughout the program.
Students learn AC/DC theory, job safety, conduit bending, category five wiring, solid-state electronics, digital electronics, optical fiber, motor controls, transformers, and the National Electric Code.

2 Lincoln Tech
Lincoln Tech is just under a 50-minute drive from Washington in Columbia, Maryland, offering an undergraduate certificate in electronics and electrical systems technology.
The program takes 47 weeks to finish, and students will learn the fundamental electrician topics that allow them to be successful.
Tuition and fees will run for students around $22,000 for the entire program.

3 My Electric Career
The apprentice electrician program from My Electric Career offers candidates a unique opportunity to earn money while learning more about the trade.
Students are mentored by experienced foremen and electricians on how to install electrical systems and equipment.
As the apprenticeship progresses, students are given a growing responsibility and accountability, which will prepare them for their careers.
Part of the apprenticeship requirement is to attend IEC training, which is the classroom instruction portion of the program.
In addition to learning the skills to be a successful electrician, instructors also teach and emphasize maintaining a safe working environment.

4 North American Trade School
Opened in 1971, the North American Trade Schools offers an electrical technology program developed to train students for entry-level electrical technician roles.
Skills learned during the program include installing and servicing electrical applications within industrial, commercial, and residential fields.
The program combines practice and theory in commercial and residential wiring, electronic control, telecommunications, programmable controllers, and machine control.
Graduates will have gained theoretical training and practical experience from the program emphasizing problem-solving skills.
