WIA Approved nursing assistant (CNA) Training Program for Free Training
Covenant CNA School: This school is located at 1 Baltimore PL NW, Ste. 401 in Atlanta.
The training at this school offers basic principals as well as courses dealing with long term care, home health, and working in a hospital.
A program’s fee is $600.
There is also an application fee of $25, and certification exams that costs $107.
A nursing assisting candidate will also need Nurse Service Organization Malpractice Insurance at a cost of $29, and a TB exam that costs $20.
The nursing program will run for four weeks Monday through Friday.
There are two offerings.
The course meets from 10am to 4pm or from 5pm to 10pm.
A person can also take a 10 week Saturday course from 8am to 4pm or 5pm to 11pm.

Information on The Certification
All CNA candidates in Georgia need to attend an approved training school and pass the exam.
Students need to understand what is expected on them before they enter a nursing program.
All certified CNA need to receive instruction on how to provide patient care in different health settings including nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, home health agencies, as well as intermediate care facilities.
The student needs to have at least 85 work hours from lectures, lab work, and at least 16 hours of clinical experience in a supervised and approved clinical setting.
A student will need to attend at least 16 hours of course work before they can work with residents in a health care facility.
There are certain skills students must have including an ability to communicate clearly, interpersonal skills, infection control as well as training in safety and emergency procedures, helping residents stay independent, and respecting residents as well as their rights.
A new aide candidate that is looking to take the exam to become certified for a first time needs to take and pass two parts.
They need to complete a National nurse Aide Assessment training within a year of successfully completing a training program.
If they pass this exam they will be placed on a Georgia Nursing Aide Registry.
If a student is transferring to Georgia from anther location or state cannot provide care in a health care facility until they are placed on the registry in Georgia.
Their eligibility will be determined by a training program they attended and if they received at their state’s instructional program.
In order to be considered, the applicant needs to complete an application to determine if they meet eligibility requirements.
Training to Be a CNA in Georgia
In order to work as a CNA in Georgia a person needs to complete an approved training course and pass the exam to become certified which is held at an approved testing center.
Training courses are 85 hours and can last between 2 weeks and 2 semesters.
