Education

Training Requirements
Many applicants to security jobs have some prior training in the field but after being hired, their employer will also offer additional training.
Basic security guard training will focus on teaching students how to:

Federal Regulations Regarding Guard Training
You should also know that security guards with no former law enforcement experience are required by federal regulations to complete a specific number of hours of training prior to their first day on the job.
Armed guards, for instance, need 8 hrs of basic security training, 16 hours of on-the-job training, and 47 hours of firearm training.
Background Checks are Required
Before starting your security guard training, you have to complete a background check.

You Have to Be Over 18
